AHSCP Fees & Payments
1. AHS MembershipIt is a pre-requisite of applying for AHSCP Certification that you are a member of either the Australasian Hydrographic Society (AHS) and/or Survey and Spatial New Zealand (S+SNZ). No additional AHS membership is required for NZ applicants who are S+SNZ members. No additional S+SNZ membership is required for AHS members. Either type of membership - S+SNZ or AHS - provides a complete pathway to applying for certification. If you have not yet joined as a member, please follow the links below. |
2. Certification Assessment Fee
The AHSCP certification assessment fee applies to both CPHS Level 1 and CPHS Level 2. It costs AUD $300 per application.
This fee covers:
- Panel assessment
- Application review
- Qualification and experience evaluation
- Award of Certification
- Administrative processing
3. Optional Sub-Specialism Endorsements
Level 1 applicants may apply for one or more recognised sub-specialisms. Assessment Fee per sub-specialism is AUD $250.
Recognised sub-specialisms include:
- Hydrography in support of Coastal Management
- Hydrography in support of Inland Waters Management
- Hydrography in support of Offshore Infrastructure Development
- Hydrography in support of Safe Navigation
4. Recertification

- Applications are assessed in accordance with the AHSCP Guidelines for Specialist Certification in Hydrographic Surveying.
- Active membership of either the AHS and/or Survey and Spatial New Zealand (S+SNZ) is required for certification.
- No additional AHS membership is required for NZ applicants who are S+SNZ members
