The AHSCP Chair letter of 4 April reminded CPHS that a CPD Audit will be undertaken for the 2025/26 CPD year. Due to the transition to AHS, it will be a manual process this year. Note for S+SNZ members – you should compile your CPD via the usual S+SNZ process. You are not required to complete AHS CPD unless you are a dual member. |
The AHS CPD audit 2025-26 will be aligned against the old GCA policy. It is understood that GCA CPD has not been available, there are many routes to achieving 15 CPD points through other conferences and meetings; World Hydrography Day; as well as webinars and other material available from the broader hydrographic community. A new AHS CPD policy will be rolled out in 2026-27 and will make access to CPD easier. The new CPD Policy will have a focus on CPD activity delivered by registered organisations that allows for a greater range of potential sources for CPD activities; with the main focus on the alignment of the CPD to the IHO S5 syllabus. The AHS is focused on bringing more quality education/training and development opportunities to the hydrographic community, and those opportunities may come from your local Institute of Surveyors, Surveyors Australia as well as professional training coming into the region through advocacy from the AHS. The new CPD Policy will also recognise the value and effort from volunteers in our profession, without who, things like the AHSCP would not be able to operate. |
